CLUB LEADERSHIP
True to our community-centered vision, the team driving the OKC United initiative has long, deep ties to Oklahoma City.
The majority owner is Echo Soccer, a strategic investment company founded by CEO Christian Kanady. An Oklahoma native a firm believer in giving back, Kanady is an active philanthropist, forging long-term partnerships with nonprofits involved in community development, education, social services, youth athletics, and music and arts.
Other key investors include NBA superstar Russell Westbrook, who forged a unique bond with OKC while starring for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008-2019; Nick Gross, the founder of cultural investment and incubation platform Gross Labs; former U.S. Men’s National Team star Jozy Altidore; the Chickasaw Nation, one of the most prominent Native American tribes in America; NFL star and University of Oklahoma legend Baker Mayfield; All-Star Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams; and four-time Olympic gold medalist and world record-holding sprinter Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Additional investors include local leaders Tim McLaughlin and Donna Bartley.
In addition, OKC United has established two advisory groups to give the community a key voice in shaping the development of the club.
The OKC for Soccer Committee, founded in 2024, is a body of prominent local civic, business, and cultural leaders. See the current committee members.
The OKC for Soccer Community Council, founded in 2025, acts as the liaison between the club and the fans, ensuring the people who support the team through thick and thin are heard, engaged, and included.
